Camellia sasanqua, with the common name camellia sasanqua, is a species of camellia native to China and Japan. It is usually found growing up to an altitude of 900 meters. It is an evergreen shrub that grows up to 5 m in height. The leaves are broad elliptical, 3 to 7 cm long and 1.2 to 3 cm wide, with a finely serrated margin. The flowers are 5 to 7 cm in diameter, with 5 to 8 white to red petals.
